About The Boat
Owned by Four Winds * Westward Ho Camps, "Carlyn" is a 61' yawl designed specifically for experiential education. The design and rig are intended to allow maximum student participation in operations.
"Carlyn" was built in 1995 according to US Coast Guard safety standards of the Sailing School Vessel Act. It is operated by a highly qualified US Coast Guard licensed crew who have experience working with teens in residential and academic settings.
On "Carlyn" students are exposed to potential careers in ecology, marine science, oceanography, education, environmental science, nautical science and resource management.
